Farmer-led advances
American Farmland Trust was looking for a logo to be used for a new initiative engaging farmers in peer-to-peer (farmer-to-farmer) education on environmental stewardship.
The Ask:
American Farmland Trust has been providing funding, education, and outreach to farmers with the goal of keeping farmers on the land, promoting sound farming practices, and protecting farmland. Their organization has been around for over 40 year and managed to stay A-political and focus on Farmer priorities.
Farmer-Led Advances in Soil Health (FLASH) Groups are bringing together farmers into farmer-led groups to provide peer education opportunities allowing for the sharing of knowledge to improve soil health and water quality while addressing the Illinois Nutrient Loss Reduction Strategy. The aim was to create a logo that incorporates the project name and aspects of Illinois agriculture in a way that was engaging and familiar with the farming community.
